How may I check in for my Eurowings flight?

Four options generally are available to use for checking-in for your Eurowings flight

•       Online check-in (Web check-in)

•       Mobile check-in

•       Self-service kiosk check-in at the airport

•       Ticket counter check-in at the airport 

Does Eurowings have online web check-in?

Yes, you may check-in and receive a boarding pass (printable version or one sent to your mobile device) for your Eurowings flight from certain airports online starting 72 hours and ending 3 hours (40 minutes at most German airports) before the scheduled departure time. You may use this option if:

  you are departing from a participating airport [Please see if web check-in for your departure airport is available by clicking here and searching in “Check the availability of web and mobile check-in for your airport:” Please note that most long-haul flights are not eligible for web check-in.]

  you have an electronic ticket on Eurowings

  you may access your reservation with your confirmation code or e-ticket number (may be referenced as “etix®” on Eurowings)

  you are not a special needs passenger (for example an unaccompanied minor)

You should also have your passport handy. You might be asked to provide your first name, surname, passport number, issued date, expiry date, nationality, country of residency, country of birth, birth date, and gender.

Can I check bags with the Eurowings online web check-in?:

Yes, baggage/hold luggage may be checked while using web check-in.

Can I pay bag fees with the Eurowings online web check-in?: 

Yes

Can I select or change my seat with the Eurowings online web check-in?: 

Yes

Does Eurowings offer mobile check-in?

Yes, you may check-in with your mobile device and receive a boarding pass (via SMS or email) for domestic flights at all German departure airports and at several European departure airports starting 72 hours and ending 3 hours (40 minutes at most German airports) before the scheduled departure time. You may use this option if:

  you are departing from a participating airport [Please see if web check-in for your departure airport is available by clicking here and searching in “Check the availability of web and mobile check-in for your airport:” Please note that most long-haul flights are not eligible for web check-in.]

  you have an electronic ticket on Eurowings

  you may access your reservation with your six-digit confirmation code and your surname

  you are not a special needs passenger (for example an unaccompanied minor)

Does Eurowings offer self-service kiosk check-in?

Yes, you may check-in for your Eurowings flight at self-service kiosks at airports where available 2 hours before scheduled departure time up to 40 minutes for short-haul flights to check baggage/luggage and receive a printed boarding pass. Please note that you must plan to be through passport/security control at least 30 minutes before your flight’s scheduled departure time and you should add an additional 30 minutes during peak flying times (for example the end of the week or the start of holiday seasons).

Does Eurowings offer ticket counter check-in?

Yes, you may check-in for your Eurowings flight at the airport ticket counter. Generally, for short-haul flights, the starting time is 2 hours before scheduled departure time and the closing time is 40 to 60 minutes depending on the departure airports. For long-haul flights the starting time is 3 hours and the closing time is 60 to 90 minutes depending on the departure airport. Please note that you must plan to be through passport/security control at least 30 to 60 minutes before your flight’s scheduled departure time.

Does Eurowings charge a fee for a seat assignment?

Yes. If you are flying on a BASIC Fare. Seat selection if you are flying on a SMART, a BEST, or a BIZclass fare is complimentary. Seats offering additional legroom may be selected for an additional fee if flying on a BASIC or a SMART fare. Prices vary between flight length and seat location. Please check the Information Seat Reservation section on the Eurowings website www.eurowings.com for current seat assignment charges.

When do I need to check-in for my Eurowings flight?

Eurowings ends web, mobile, kiosk, and ticket counter check-in:

  40 minutes before departure time for flights within Germany

  90 minutes before scheduled departure time for short-haul flights within Europe

  60 to 90 minutes before scheduled departure time for long-haul international flights

When do I need to arrive at the airport for my Eurowings flight?

Suggested arrival time: 

  90 minutes before scheduled departure time for short-haul and medium-haul flights within Europe

  2 hours before scheduled departure time for long-haul international flights

Minimum required check-in time with carry-on baggage?

  40 minutes before scheduled departure time for short-haul and medium-haul flights within Europe
